Centrifugal blower is also called turbine blower. Under the action of rotating impeller, the pressure and flow rate of gas can be increased, and continuous air supply can be realized. Its working principle is that when the motor rotates to drive the fan impeller to rotate, the gas is thrown out under the action of centrifugal force and changes its flow direction. The kinetic energy is converted into static pressure energy, and the gas is discharged from the exhaust port. At the same time, a certain negative pressure is formed between the impellers to make the outside air. Under the action of atmospheric pressure, the gas is added to achieve the purpose of continuous blowing. Centrifugal blowers are divided into multi-stage centrifugal blowers and single-stage centrifugal blowers according to the number of impellers. Multi-stage low-speed centrifugal blower normal refers to the rotor in 2 or more than 2 impellers connected in series on the same main shaft, there can be at most eight-stage blades, the rotor speed is 3000 ~ 3600r/min centrifugal blower. Centrifugal blowers generally use inlet throttling to adjust the flow and pressure, so that the fan runs at a lower power without air regulation, and can maintain the same high efficiency as the rated working condition, and is used for working conditions where the pressure and flow are unstable.

The air supply volume of the multi-stage centrifugal blower is generally large, but the generated wind pressure is not high, the outlet gauge pressure is generally less than or equal to 110kPa, and the flow rate is generally about 130 m3/min. Compared with Roots blower, low-speed multi-stage centrifugal blower has been gradually replaced by Roots blower in foreign sewage treatment plants since 1980 s due to its low noise, stable and reliable operation and high efficiency. However, there are still some disadvantages, such as large volume, heavy mass, poor flow regulation performance, low efficiency and high energy consumption.
